Blake Roberts of Broadmoor and Melissa Saken of Edson each won the 2009 Srixon Order of Merit for their respective divisions and each got the defense of their 2009 Order of Merit titles off to an excellent start today. Roberts toured the Drayton Valley layout in a 1-under par 70, good for a 3-shot margin of victory over Brennan Kearney of Fort McMurray. Michael Holland of Leduc and Ryan MacBeath of Glendale tied for third another two shots back at 75.  McBeath's score was a career low for the 15-year old Glendale junior, as he had never broken 80 before!  If you are going to break 80 for the first time, what better way to do it than shoot a 75 in competition!A total of 76 juniors were on hand from across the province.

Saken was low among five junior girls on hand with an 85. Cara Vanderham of Innisfail and Katie Griffiths of River Bend in Red Deer tied for the runner-up spot with matching scores of 90.

The Drayton course was soggy in spots after heavy recent rains in the area, but the course Superintendent deserves high praise for having the course in outstanding condition. The course has been selected as the site of the 2011 Alberta Golf Junior Boys' Championship and promises to be an excellent test for Alberta's best junior boys next summer.

Roberts, Saken, Kearney, Holland and  MacBeath all earned spots today in the 2010 Tour Championship to be held August 30th at Wolf Creek Golf  Resort.  They will be joined there by Keaton Allred of River Ridge, whose 81 topped the flight for boys born in 1996 and later.

Q = Qualified for Tour Championship at Wolf Creek Golf Resort on August 30

WC = Wild Card Qualfier for Tour Championship.

Code of Conduct

The McLennan Ross Sun Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Sun Junior Golf Tour events.
