The week-long Grande Prairie Gang Travelling Road Show came to an end today for four "Life on the Road" juniors from the Grande Prairie GCC. Chauferred and chaperoned by Daniel Bishop, whose son was in the group, these kids played all four Tour events this week starting on Monday at Indian Lakes, south to Olds on Tuesday, up to Lacombe yesterday and winding up today in Whitecourt before heading back to GP.
Nolan Trudeau, whose brother Ryan was also along on the trip with Daniel Bishop Jr, and Carlin Spink, made the most of the last stop on the Tour this week with a win at the Whitecourt Junior Open, firing a 3-over par 75 at the challenging Whitecourt layout. The host club's Darcy Charrois was 2 strokes back in solo second, with The Rakowski Brothers (Sam and Alex) from the Edmonton Petroleum Club tying for third place a further stroke back with matching 78s.
Only one junior girl was on hand today, with Paige Bednorz of Sandpiper shooting a very respectible 102 to earn her way into the Tour Championship at Wolf Creek Golf Resort on August 25th.
The Tour moves into Central and Southern Alberta next week with stops in Rocky Mountain House, Carstairs and Strathmore.
