A busy week on Tour came to a conclusion today with the Strathmore Junior Open.  The folks in Strathmore always put on a first rate tournament, with an excellent post-round meal, which today included some delicious lasagna, salads, garlic toast and a dessert tray.  Oh yes,,some golf was also played!!!

Louis Dumais of Stony Plain earned his first-ever Tour win today with a 2-under par 70 on the challenging and water-lined Strathmore fairways. Demais has had several excellent performances so far on Tour this year, and he broke through today with  a well-deserved win. Wallace O'Neil of Cochrane, who made only the 2nd-ever double eagle in Tour history last week in winning at Olds, finished second today with an even-par 72.  Kyle McLachlan of Cottonwood was alone in third with a 74.

Qualifiers for the season-ending Tour Championship at Wolf Creek today included McLachlin along with Travis Neil of Valley Ridge and Tyson Cann of Lynx Ridge whose matching 78s tied for first in the flight for boys born in 1992/93.  Qualifier out of the flight for boys born in 1994 and later was Theoren Olver (82) of Three Hills. Wild Card qualifiers were Kevin Wong of Bearspaw with a 76, along with Matthew Nesselbeck of Elbow Springs, Jon MacLean of Lacombe, and Joel Hislop of Cottonwood, all at 77, but as time did not permit a playoff, all three were awarded spots for Wolf Creek.

Three Junior Girls were on hand today, and full marks to these young women, who toured the course in a brisk three hours and 50 minutes!  BOYS,,,get your feet moving!!!!  Alison Seto of Country Hills earned the Tour Championship spot today with an 89.

Code of Conduct

The McLennan Ross Sun Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Sun Junior Golf Tour events.
