Kyle Morrison's 65 at River Bend.  Ryan Swelin's 66 at Wolf Creek. Todd Halpen's 67 in Lacombe.  All great rounds and some of the best in Tour history.  But they were all nearly in the rear view mirror today as Red Deer GCC's Jordan Krulicki flirted with going REALLY low today at the River Bend Golf and Recreation Area, today's stop on Tour.

Krulicki, the 2005 Tour Champion, roared out of the gate with 5 birdies on the front 9 at the immaculately groomed River Bend layout.  Three more birdies on 10, 11, and 13  had him -8 after 13 holes and no doubt all sorts of numbers were going through his head.  61?  60?  Dare we dream, even a 59?  However, a bogey on 15 and a double on 17 put the brakes on those thoughts.  Nevertheless, this was a terrific round of golf; one of the finest in Tour history.  Congratulations, Jordan!

Chris Waskylkiewicz of Sturgeon Valley was under par himself with a 71, a distant four shots back in solo 2nd, but good enough to earn Chris a spot in the Tour Championship a few miles north of Red Deer at Wolf Creek Golf Resort on August 27. Riel Adkin of Canal at Delacour topped the flight for boys born in 1991/92 with a 75, and Tyler Cassidy of the host club punched his ticket to Wolf Creek in the flight for boys born in 1993 and later, firing an 83.  Wild Card qualifiers were Mike Zimmerman of Sturgeon Valley (74) and Scott Jessome of River Bend (75).

Cara Vanderham of Innisfail continues to improve, and her 91 was best among the five girls on hand today, also earing Cara a spot in the Tour Championship field.

The Tour picks up again on Tuesday, August 7 in Innisfail, followed by the Kevin Hipple Memorial Junior Open at Calgary's Pinebrook GCC the following day.  Thursday, August 9, the Tour swings back north to the challenging Black Bull Golf Resort layout.  Entries are open for all 3 events at this writing, but are going fast.

Q = Qualified for Tour Championship at Wolf Creek on August 27.

WC = Wild Card qualifier for Tour Championship.

PQ = Player had previously qualified for Tour Championship.
