Another picture perfect morning today at Goose Hummock Golf Resort, just northeast of Edmonton. As the morning wore on, the sun started to heat up the 74 juniors on hand today, but none were hotter than Sturgeon Valley's Chad Rechlo, who fired an even-par 71 to take home top honors in the Junior Boys division. Rechlo was on cruise control at 2-under, but found trees on his last hole and stumbled in with a double bogey. However, his margin of victory was still four shots over AJ Mark of RedTail Landing and five shots over Cody Stout of Red Deer GCC.
Mark DID win the title of "Outfit of the Day" though with a stunning pink pants, black and pink shirt look that was hotter than the 32C weather! Full "marks" for having the courage to walk the walk and have the game to talk to the talk! Good on ya, AJ!!!!
New qualifiers for the Tour Championship today were Mark, Brent Henke of Pioneer Meadows (79), Steven Davis (78) and Zack Belland (78), and Ryan Trudeau of Grande Praire, whose 80 was best among the players in the flight for boys born in 1993 and later.
Three junior girls were on hand today, and Miranda Airriess of Barrhead was best among them with a 90; 7 shots clear of Lauren Guhl of Windermere and 8 shots better than Amanda Woytenko of Jagare Ridge. Woytenko earned her way to Wolf Creek, and both Airriess and Guhl had previously qualified.
The Tour swings into Central and Southern Alberta next week with stops in Old, Carstairs and Strathmore. Spots are still open in all three tournaments, so enter today!

WC = Wild Card Qualifier for Tour Championship.
