Format: 18 holes, Tee times on a crossover start beginning at 11:00 a.m. The rotation for the 2010 tournament is Aspen / Hazelwood 9s.
The Course: Big changes recently in Innisfail! They have added a brand new 9 holes, giving them 27 holes. Their new routing will have some of the new holes on one 9, and some on another nine. But players can be assured that the course will be hilly, in great shape, and a terrific test.
Yardages: Aspen 9
Black 3,334 Blue 3,131 White 2,884 Gold 2,497
Hazelwood 9
Black 3,380 Blue 3,170 White 2,980 Gold 2.703
Spruce 9
Black 3,271 Blue 3,087 White 2,900 Gold 2,548
Par is 36 on all 3 Nine’s
Key Hole: The signature hole is what used to be #15, a devilish downhill, dogleg left par 4 of 362 yards. The green sits out on a peninsula surrounded by water and bulrushes, and the tee shot must navigate deep bush on the right side, and a lateral water hazard on the left. Great short par 4!
How to find the course and travel times: The town of Innisfail is about 30 km. south of Red Deer on Hwy. 2. Drive west through town, staying on the main business street, and the golf course is on the northwest edge of town.
