The Camrose Jr. Open will complete a four-in-four-days swing through Central Alberta.
Head Pro Bill Penny and Junior Coordinator Pat Bohnet will no doubt do a terrific job with their event. The front nine is the original layout dating back over 50 years, but every green has been rebuilt over the past decade. The back nine, north of the railway tracks that bisect the golf course, is longer and features more water and bunkering than the front.
We will probably play from the tips at 6,139 yards for the boys and somewhere around 5,100 yards for junior girls. The 16th is a really good par-5 coming in, with an approach shot over water if you want to gamble on going for the green in two.
We have confirmed that as of July 15, 2010 the club has scheduled their tournament for an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start. Please leave adequate time to get to the course, register, and warm up.
