The McLennan Ross Sun Junior Tour

The McLennan Ross Sun Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Sun Junior Golf Tour events.

1. Actions that are considered violations of the Code of Conduct on the course and golf course property include, but are not limited to:
   
   Abusive language directed to anyone at a Tour event including people such as: fellow competitors, Golf course staff, Host club volunteers, Tour staff, or spectators.
   
   Abuse of the golf course and/or golf course property. Club throwing. Excessive displays of bad temper and poor sportsmanship. Use of alcohol, tobacco, or tobacco related products such as chewing tobacco at Tour events is STRICTLY prohibited, notwithstanding the fact that some competitors in Junior golf may be of legal drinking or smoking age.
   
   Any other conduct not becoming that of a Tour member.
   
   1st OFFENCE – WARNING
   2nd OFFENCE –DISQUALIFICATION
   
   Serious offences may result in immediate disqualification without the benefit of a prior warning.
2. Proper attire is required at Tour events at all times. The goal of the Tour is to encourage participation of young people at the tournaments, but it is the responsibility of competitors to adhere to the dress code of the Host facility. In plain English, we are not going to send a young boy or girl home from a Tour event if they are clean and neat in appearance and they behave themselves properly. If the host club permits blue jeans, for example, players may wear blue jeans as long as they are clean and not excessively worn or torn. However, rugby pants, sweats, short shorts, tank or halter-tops are not acceptable at any times. Hats must be worn properly at all times, and this means the brims facing forward, not backward!
3. Use of wireless and/or text devices such as cell phones, iPods, Blackberries, iPhones and similar devices during the stipulated round is PROHIBITED except in the case of medical emergencies. Cell phones must be turned OFF during the stipulated round, and should be set on 'vibrate' at other times while on the golf course property to limit the chances of disrupting other competitors.
   
   If a competitor is in violation of the dress or cell phone code at an event, he or she must:
   1. If the violation occurs before of after the competitor's round, the competitor must immediately comply with the above code.
   2. If the violation occurs during the round, the competitor must immediately comply with the appropriate standard, and will be prohibited from continuing play until in compliance. The standard must be maintained for the duration of the competitor's stay at the host facility.
4. Actions that would merit IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION would include, but are not limited to:
   
   Cheating; use, possession, or association with illegal drugs or alcohol; willful damage to golf course property, and/or serious conduct not becoming a Tour member.
   
   DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS: 
   All Disqualification penalties for Code of Conduct violations will be referred to the McLennan Ross Sun Junior Tour Disciplinary Committee. The Disciplinary Committee will advise the competitor and his or her parents of the reasons for the disqualification. Serious offences will also be reported to the Disciplinary Committee of Alberta Golf, and may result in further disciplinary penalties from them.
   
   In the event that the Disciplinary Committee of the Tour and/or Alberta Golf determines that a suspension of playing privileges is warranted, the competitor and his or her parents will be advised in writing of the suspension. The competitor will have 30 days in which to appeal the suspension, and the competitor and his or her parents will be advised of the date and place at which the appeal will be heard.
